In November 2006, following reorganisation of the Primary Care Trusts in Kent, Dr Meradin Peachey became the Director of Public Health for Kent. This new, unique post is jointly appointed by Kent County Council, Eastern and Coastal Kent and West Kent Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). This is the first annual report of the Director of Public Health for Kent for the year 2006, and summarises the work of Public Health over this year.
