If your chosen GP cannot take you as a patient

Sometimes it may not possible for a practice to register you, if for example their list of patients is full.  If this happens you should approach other practices that cover the area in which you live.

If you have trouble finding a local surgery to register with, phone the appropriate number below.

  • If you live in Kent, please call the Kent Primary Care Agency on 01622 655049.

The department will either give you contact details for practices accepting patients in your area or if this is not possible arrange for you to be allocated to a practice in the area.

If you are in this situation and you need medical treatment before you have been told who your new doctor is, you can approach any practice in the area and be seen as a patient needing immediately necessary treatment.

You should tell the practice that you are in the process of being allocated as you have been unable to register, and they will see you on a temporary basis.
