Pharmacists, often called chemists, are experts on medicines and how they work. They usually work in high street shops or units in supermarkets. They make up prescriptions issued by your doctor and can also advise on treatments that can be bought over the counter.

If you wish to make a complaint about a local chemist, or register a compliment, please contact your local PCT (Primary Care Trust). If you don't know which primary care trust area you live in, consult our

The NHS in Kent also provides a Health Mediation Service, which people who have complaints against local pharmacies can use.
